Nowadays, parents, for getting their children into a school of repute, have to face the music by being tested and interviewed. Private schools are charging donations and setting absurd conditions..
PRIVATE SCHOOLS in Delhi are wrecking havoc in the lives of kids as well as their parents. With the private schools stating conditions like having 55 per cent reservation for nursery seats alloted for the general category if the child is a boy, first child of the parents, or has no siblings.
Many schools take the parents in consideration and parents have to answer a set of absurd questionnaires in order to get their child admitted in the school of their choice. In many schools points are alloted to children on each answer given by parents and, the parents who have scored highest marks can get their child admitted.
Likewise-if the school is located in a 'model town', then the child who resides in a model town will get 10 points and the child who comes from different area will not get the marks. Also, donations can make the admission quiet easy and the donation amount starts from Rs. 2,00,000 for the admission of a 4-year-old kid. It is a known fact that donations cannot be afforded by many people and this is wrong as well as a manipulative method to provide admissions. Besides all these problems, priorities of parents also reduces the choices of schools for their kids. At the end, the admission depends upon the child's ability to do well. But, parents usually emphasise on sports quality, location, strictness, comfortability, timings and transportation. Though making personal choices for their children is not wrong, but if they are not getting a school of their choice, they should be flexible enough to try other schools as well and be adjustable.
