Isn't SRK the most loved Bollywood super-star globally? Ironically, he has the maximum number of fans in the USA and that's exactly the reason why he went there. He flew to USA for an Independence Day celebration. He was detained at the Newark Airport because his name popped up the computer stating it is a common name and thus might be dangerous. Agreed that he has a Khan surname and USA is taking no chances after 9\11 but the man needs no introduction.

 

He's the face of Bollywood with his wax statue at Madame Tussaud's in London. Didn't we hear that he was in the Forbes list of most powerful men on the planet? Then obviously the security officials were not well informed. He was interrogated for two long hours and his hand-bag was checked and his luggage wasn't cleared. What's funny is that he was asked where did he get the money, which was in his bag?

 

What the man is capable of earning in seconds is something the airport officials might not be able to earn in their life-time with due respect to dignity to labour. He wasn't allowed to use his cell phone but was asked to name all the people he knew in there. Now how is a star of his stature supposed to remember names of the organisers of his show? When Hollywood stars like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Richard Gere and the like arrive in our country we put in extra efforts to make they are comfortable with full co-operation from the government.

 

It's not the first time that Khan had gone to America. Still, he was stuck for two hours. He is one of the most co-operative stars of the film fraternity and would be more than willing to let the officials carry out their routine check. But this was no routine check. The star being his humble-self does not even want these officials to apologise but the fact is that they should know what a blunder they created and make sure such a thing never happens again.
