BLAMING THE fatigue caused by playing too much cricket, Team India coach Gary Kirsten has laid the blame of India's exit from T20 world cup at the door of Indian Premier League (IPL).
Kirsten on Monday (June 15), said that playing in the IPL had led to fatigue amongst the Indian cricketers, who also carried injured picked during the IPL season II in South Africa.
The Indian coach in a clear message said that Indian board will have to rest the players and keep them away from playing too much cricket. He also called for having bigger squads as too much cricket was playing throughout the year.
Kirsten said said that in the face of the demanding schedule, the Indian team never achieved the intensity required for an international team to win tournaments.
Even as the Indian coach sounded warning of excess cricket burning out players, the next year is likely to see an even more punishing schedule.
ICC is likely to host a T20 world cup next April in the Carribean, while IPL will also have to be accommodated in the tight schedule.
