KITES STARRING Hrithik Roshan is directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Rakesh Roshan. The movie's cast includes Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Kangana Ranawat, Kabir Bedi and Luce Rains. This film will be released today on may 21, 2010. This film is reportedly a high budget movie and has world rights valued at $30 million.

As per the story of the film, Hrithik Roshan is Jai, who was orphaned in childhood and now lives with his street smart ways and has a charming personality. He is fond of good things in life and sometimes makes deals under the table to make a couple of dollars extra. He is a Salsa teacher.

Barbara Mori is depicted as Natasha, a beautiful but illegal immigrant from Mexico, who is in constant fear of being discovered and deported.

Kangana Ranaut is Gina, a rich girl, who is spoiled and used to getting what she wants. The film gets its raison de ethre from the fact that Gina wants her Salsa teacher desperately. Another important character in the film is  Kabir Bedi as Bob, a powerful and wealthy casino owner.

In the harsh terrain of the Mexican desert, a mortally wounded man is left to die in the heat of the desert sun. This is Jay. Once a street smart, carefree young guy. Now, a wanted man. As death looms, the only thing that keeps him alive is the quest to find the love of his life, Natasha. A woman betrothed to another man. Jay and Natasha will fall in love despite language and cultural barriers, and embark on an action-packed adventure of love, dance and danger across Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Mexico- an adventure that could kill them both, or bring them together forever.

Kites will officially be released in its international English version as Kites: The Remix. It has been edited by Brett Ratner. The international version will be 90 minutes long, as opposed to the Hindi version, which is 130 minutes long. This version will delete all songs, except for 'Fire' which has an altenative English version that will be heard during the end titles. With alternative footage and added action scenes, this movie aims at a younger, action orientated audience. The movie is said to be 'racier, edgier and spunkier' than the Hindi edit.
