IN THE 32nd match of the Indian Premier League 2011 on Wednesday, April 27, at Kochi's Nehru Stadium, Kochi Tuskers Kerala will take on Deccan Chargers. Both Kochi and Deccan are playing their seventh game in the on-going IPL 2011.
Deccan Chargers, who reached the semi final of the Indian Premier League in 2010, have won only two matches, and lost four matches so far in the current season of the IPL.
Sangakkara-led Deccan Chargers won against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils, whereas they lost against Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians in its previous games in the on-going IPL 2011.
Kochi Tuskers Kerala, which is playing its first season of the Indian Premier League, entered the tournament with a six wickets loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the next match, Kochi Tuskers lost against another brand new Pune Warriors.
Kochi Tuskers won its first ever IPL match by eight wickets against Mumbai Indians on April 15. Mahela Jayawardene and Tuskers continued their winning momentum against Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, but in its sixth IPL game, Rajasthan Royals defeated Kochi by eight wickets.
For the Deccans, opener Shikhar Dhawan is not contributing with his bat. Captain Kumar Sangakkara, JP Duminy and Cameron White are the key batsmen for the team, whereas Dale Steyn and Amit Mishra lead the bowling attack. Ishant Sharma and Pragyan Ojha have together conceded 254 runs for four wickets in the IPL 2011 for the Deccan Chargers.
Kochi team has many contributors both with bat and bowl. Captain Mahela Jayawardene, Brendon McCullum, Ravindra Jadeja, Parthiv Patel are the star batsmen for Kochi Tuskers Kerala. RP Singh and Muttiah Muralitharan are the two important bowlers of Tuskers.
