Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL 2011 match this afternoon
In the 24th IPL 2011 match this afternoon, Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at its home ground. Previously, both teams played on six occasions and have won three matches each in the competition.
HISTORICAL EDEN Gardens in Kolkata is going to host the 24th match of the  Indian Premier League 2011 between host Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore this evening. Both KKR and RCB are playing their sixth match in the ongoing tournament.

Shah Rukh Khan owned and Gautam Gambhir led Kolkata Knight Riders is on top of the points table, whereas Royal Challengers Bangalore is on the ninth spot of the table. KKR has won three matches and lost two and RCB has won one match, lost three and one match ended without result.

Kolkata Knight Riders is playing for first time in the history of IPL like a winner. However, two days back Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen played poor cricket and lost by six runs against Kochi Tuskers. KKR bowlers restricted KTK batsmen to only 132 runs, but the KKR batsmen only 126 runs.

Riders started IPL season 4 with a loss by a narrow margin of two runs against defending champions Chennai Super Kings. In the next three matches Knight Riders won against Deccan Chargers by nine runs and in back-to-back matches against Rajasthan Royals, won by nine wickets and eight wickets respectively.

Vijay Mallya's Royal Challengers Bangalore team started IPL 2011 campaign with a six wickets victory against new team Kochi Tuskers Kerala. But in the next three matches against Mumbai Indians, Deccan Chargers and Chennai Super Kings, Challengers failed to show its winning momentum and lost by nine wickets, 33 runs and 21 runs respectively.

In its last match against Rajasthan Royals at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, the match was called off due to rain without a ball being bowled.

West Indies opener Chris Gayle is likely to start his IPL 4 season this afternoon for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Gayle, who went unsold in IPL auction in January, is the replacement of RCB's injured pacer Dirk Nannes.

Royal Challengers has many match winners in the squad, but none of them are performing consistently and up to their standards. Tillakaratne Dilshan, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers all can contribute a good score, but still they have not fired in the tournament.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL match will start from 4:00 pm. It is expected that the stadium will be fully packed to cheer for the local team.
