The Raliegh Krispy Kreme Challenge is an event which annually sees students of the North Carolina University dash two miles, eat 12 donuts and come back. It even on the Sports Illustrated List of '102 More Things to do before you graduate'.
WITH THE offer of free donuts in mind, 6000 runners started off at 8:30 AM on Saturday, February 6, kick starting the four mile Krispy Kreme Challenge 2010, to raise funds for the North Carolina Children's Hospital.
The Raliegh Krispy Kreme Challenge is an event which started off as a fraternity stunt. It annually sees students of the North Carolina University dash two miles, eat 12 donuts and come back. It is even part of the Sports Illustrated List of "102 More things you gotta do before you graduate".
The sugar rush, which allows the runners to complete the four mile dash, occurred this year with the consumption of 72,000 donuts.
Kalie Porterfield, an organiser of the Krispy Kreme Challenge said, "We are are amazed at the growth of the Krispy Kreme Challenge in its first five years. The tremendous community support and generosity helps us provide an annual donation for the kids and families at North Carolina Children's Hospital."
