Disgusted by the attitude of the state government, the teachers at Kurukshetra University have decided to stage another agitation, their second in last six months, against the government's inaction regarding hiking their pay.
KURUKSHETRA UNIVERSITY Teachers Association (KUTA) is up in arms again after a gap of over six months. Its demand of implementation of new pay packages has been sidelined by the Haryana government after repeated reassurances on three different occasions during the past agitations. However, this time it is an 'aar-paar' agitation.
The KUTA leadership may go to the electorate in the Ratia and Adampur by-elections to expose the Haryana government's apathetic attitude towards the teaching fraternity in colleges and universities. Teachers of all institutions in Haryana are already up in arms on various issues lying unaddressed since long.

The KUTA president Dr Pradeep Chauhan categorically said that the Kurukshetra University and the state government were hand-in-glove not to implement the new pay-package in its true spirit. "Desperate by their attitude, we had convened an emergent meeting of KUTA-EC to decide the future course of action. We resolved that KUTA would proceed on its decision to stage a protest dharna at VC office on November 16,” he declared, adding that KUTA had also constituted five committees to mobilise teachers to visit each department tomorrow for massive participation. "I promise you that with your support and strength, the University authority will be forced to implement our all demands," he assured the teaching fraternity.
