WHEN AMITABH Bachchan was asked by Anupama Chopra whether we are making good films or not, his answer was interesting. After vehemently accepting the fact that Bollywood was producing good movies he added, 'not the escapist Bollywood blockbusters that garner money but the small films with meaning.' 'Kya Dilli Kya Lahore', produced by Karan Arora, is one of those smaller movies about which Amitabh Bachchan was talking in the interview. Its first look was released in an event organized at Attari-Wagah India-Pakistan border. Since the film is about one Indian and one Pakistani soldier, the location for the release of the official look was very appropriate.
Karan Arora, trying to explain the film, said, “Kya Dilli Kya Lahore is an attempt to balm the bloodline formed between the two nations and to heal the wounds. It is to make them realize that the biggest things is humanity. Many people are trying in different ways to spread this message, and we have also tried through this film to spread the message of peace and brotherhood.”
The two lead characters are played by eminent artists and actors Raj Zutshi and Vijay Raj. A simple message and two good actors are sure to seal the future of this film. The fact that the film is about India and Pakistan relationship is also a factor that would attract people to watch it.
As films on Pakistan are varied, and their representation is also different, it would be refreshing to watch a movie on the same topic that claims to be apolitical. Raj Zutshi talking about the film, said, “This film is a message of love and it attempts to end the border and difference between the two countries and to convert the passion and enthusiasm among the people into love. This will make life easy and comfortable.”
