AT THE LA Marathon 2010 or the Los Angeles Marathon 2010 which took place today, from the Los Angeles Dodgers Stadium to Santa Monica Pier, Kenyan Wesley Korir defended his title, coming first in the men's event, while Edna Kiplagat won the women's event. The LA Marathon 2010 route, meanwhile gave runners a view of many tourist sites in the city.
Wesley Korir, who is on his honeymoon in Los Angeles and is living in Louisville, won the LA Marathon 2010 in two hours, nine minutes and 19 seconds. He clocked the third best time in the history of the Los Angeles Marathon. Paul Samoei and Richard Limo came second and third in the 26.2 mile stadium to the sea race.
In the women's catagory, fellow Kenyan Edna Kiplagat won the LA Marathon 2010 in 2:25:37. She also got the gender challenge $100,000 prize, for being the first runner male or female to cross the Santa Monica Pier finish line.
Since morning, many people have been browsing for the LA Marathon road closures and the LA Marathon 2010 route, as it has been changed this year to allow runners to cover many landmarks in the city. These include Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Rodeo Drive and the Sunset strip apart from the two end points - the Los Angeles Dodgers Stadium and Santa Monica Pier.
