Lack of action by Indian netas sending wrong signals to Pakistan
It was on early morning of May 1, that Pakistani Army's BAT team of SSG commandos infiltrated 250 meters inside the Indian territory in Krishna Ghati section of the LOC and ambushed an Indian border patrol party consisting of 7 to 8 soldiers.

While others took cover, Pakistanis killed junior commissioned officer (JCO) Naib subedar Paramjit Singh of 22 Sikh regiment and a head constable of BSF and beheaded them. Mutilating a soldier's body is the worst crime that any army can possibly commit.

In any case, what else can be expected from the Pakistani Army, which in its own country operates in a counter insurgency role, killing thousands of its own countrymen using heavy artillery, tanks and fighter aircrafts. However, that is their problem, but then, what are we doing against this heinous crime committed by the Pakistani Army? What message are we sending to Pakistan for this dastardly act of theirs?

More than 72 hours have passed since this cowardly act of Pakistan. But, all that we have done is to issue a stern warning to Pakistan that this act will not be condoned and that an appropriate action will be taken at a time and place of our choice. However, Pakistan, apart from denying its army's role in the act and telling us to provide proof, has counter warned us, that any overt action will be reciprocated in kind. So, what have we achieved by this warning? Pakistan hardly cares about our warnings, since it has China's backing.

It has been reported that Prime Minster Modi had a five-hour meeting with Defence Minister Arun Jaitley on the issue. OK, but what this meeting would have achieved without the presence of the three defence service chiefs? The problem with our netas is that somehow they do not want to take necessary advice from the armed forces even though the issue purely concerns them.

The post of Chief of Defence Staff for giving single window advice to our netas was sanctioned in 2003, but till date, the post has not been created. 'Sab chalta hai!'

The real truth is that after Indira Gandhi, not a single Indian prime minster has had the guts to take a strong military decision against Pakistan. This includes current Prime Minster Modi, despite his tough image. None of our PMs have been willing to take any risks. It needs to be understood that no military action comes without the risk factor. PM Modi had authorised one surgical strike last September which resulted in completely surprising and stunning Pakistan. They were so perturbed by our surgical strike that they relocated 35 out of their 55 jehadi camps from near the LOC to deep in the hinterland. We should have carried on with more surgical strikes after every Pakistani Army sponsored jehadi attack and bludgeoned their army, but we did not do it. So now, that they have lost the fear of these strikes, jehadi camps are thriving again.

Let there be no doubt that the entire country is angry over the mutilation of bodies of our two soldiers. Empty talks and promises by our ruling netas will not serve any purpose. We cannot afford losing more of our brave soldiers due to the risk averseness of our netas. Pakistan is our enemy and we just cannot have good relations with that country. India must devise ways and means to break Pakistan apart which is not a difficult task in the current scenario prevailing in the Balochistan and NWFP provinces of Pakistan.

PM Modi's simply talking about Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan from the ramparts of Red Fort will not do, it is time that he must act. India must revoke the Indus water Treaty (IWT). Either Pakistan stops cross border terrorism against India or we stop water flowing into Pakistan. The post of CDS must be created on urgent basis and let our PM take advice from him on matters of military concern and not from NSA Mr Doval, who is basically a policeman with a defensive mindset. It's time that our ruling class of netas understood that in world affairs, peace and tranquility only prevails when a country has a strong militarily. Cases in point are China and USA.
