GLAM POP singer Lady Gaga is bound to become the first living person to have 10 million fans on a single social networking site, having already overtaken US President Barack Obama on Facebook, as per a British group that measures online popularity. According to her fan followers, she is the most popular living musician online.
"Paparazzi" singer whose real name is Stefani Germanotta had more than 9.9 million Facebook fans and 4.7 million Twitter followers. Despite setting the new record, she's still only in sixth place overall.
Lady Gaga posted a short video message on her official website as well as her Facebook page acknowledging the fans dubbed by the singer as her "little monsters" that helped her achieve the new record.
But Lady Gaga faces some stiff competition before she achieves total dominance of the social networking world. The late pop singer Michael Jackson has some 14 million Facebook fans, but the winner by a long margin is the online game "Texas Hold'em Poker" which has more than 20 million. In the list of the five who have outdone Gaga are Poker variation Texas Hold 'em (20.2 million), The late Michael Jackson (nearly 15 million), Online game Mafia Wars (12.8 million), Facebook itself (nearly 11.5 million), The animated TV show Family Guy (10.7 million).Lady Gaga made her debut on the Forbes magazine 2010 Celebrity 100 power list for the first time this week, entering in fourth place with estimated earnings over the past twelve months of $62 million. The pop sensation has achieved yet another milestone in the media.
