TWITTER, ONE of the most popular social networking sites has provided a platform for ordinary people like us, who can follow our favourite celebrities and read what they have directly put up on Twitter, which can be personal too. As a result of which there are a large number of celebrities that have a huge number of followers on Twitter. Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Barrack Obama, Kate Perry, Britney Spears, Shakira feature in the top 10 followers list on Twitter.

Her followers are spread throughout the world, which justifies her position as one of the best pop singers in the world. Justin Bieber, who had come into the limelight with his first debut album, ‘My World’ stands as the second most followed person as he has 11.65 million people following him.
Many would have expected the first citizen of USA, Barrack Obama, to top the charts as far as followers are concerned, as he is considered to be a very important person in the world. But, he still ranks third with 9.55 million followers across the world. Each and everyone related to the political and the economic world might be his follower on Twitter. Obama does not seem to have much time to tweet, as he has just tweeted 1697 tweets after he joined Twitter four years back, in 2007.
There are a host of other celebrities who are popular in the ranking charts on Twitter like as Britney Spears who has around 8.87 million followers, and is ranked fifth as far as the followers are concerned. She is followed closely by Kim Kardashian in the sixth place, with 8.84 followers.
