L'affaire Lalit Modi!
Amid the entire controversy surrounding ex-boss of IPL in India Lalit Modi, it seems the country is missing the main issue: That is how to bring back the fugitive and try him under the law of land.

Amid the entire controversy surrounding the ex-boss of IPL in India Lalit Modi, nowadays popularly referred as Modigate, in which the BJP-led government is facing the heat. It seems that the country is missing the main issue: That is how to bring back the fugitive and try him under the law of land.

Maybe some of the allegations labelled by Lalit Modi against a few BJP and the UPA leaders holds true but there needs to be an investigated by an impartial committee first. However, the main issue lies of arresting Lalit Modi by collaborating with the UK govt., where he is in exile, claiming threat to his life in India. The controversy seems to be getting murkier by the day with snowballing of names from the kitty of Lalit Modi.

It is not very clear what is holding back the Indian government from getting him extradited and set him on trial. The Indian authorities often make claims to catch hold of anyone who is capable creating problems on the Indian soil and teach other nations a lesson but there is no such urgency shown in bringing to book a fugitive from a friendly nation. Remember India's boasting of "Hot Pursuit" and the alleged killing of extremist leaders in Myanmar.

It's time, the Indian leaders and judiciary pushed for Lalit Modi to be brought back to India and tried under the judicial system. Please, let the right message reach to both people at home and abroad that the Indian government is not lenient on anyone be it rich or poor, and no one is big enough to escape the law.
