Lance Armstrong: from hero to zero
Lance Armstrong has been officially banned from Cycling and also stripped of the seven Tour De France titles, which he had won in his illustrious career. Tough times lie ahead for the cyclist, who had previously refuted all doping charges.

LANCE ARMSTRONG has been one of the best cyclists who have ever participated in this sport. He has seen and done it all in his illustrious career including the seven Tour De France titles, which is considered to be one of the greatest achievement in the sport. But after the US Anti Doping agency accused the athlete of being involved in one of the most sophisticated doping scandals in cycling history, the whole world came crashing down for Lance Armstrong, who was also stripped of his Toure De France titles.

An official announcement was made by Pat McQuid, president, International Cycling Union in this AFP video, “UCI will ban Lance Armstrong from Cycling and UCI will strip him of his seven Tour De France titles. He has no place in cycling.” These words are going to hurt the cyclist real bad, as he has always said that he has never been involved in any doping programmes.

The 200-page report of the US Anti Doping agency does not put Lance Armstrong in a good position either. The document includes testimonies of 26 people including 11 of his former team mates as well. Such kind of documents, which have been well supported by facts, could prove to be the killer blow to Lance Armstrong, who earned a special respect from sportspersons all over the world for the way he came back into the field of cycling after his cancer treatment. Not many could have been so successful, as he was post his cancer treatment.

This scandal has lowered the respect, which he had gained in the past and has thus also decided to step down as the chairman of the Livestrong Foundation. If his cancer treatment days were considered to be one of toughest in his life, this doping controversy would haunt him for the rest of his life.
