LaShawn Merritt, Olympic athlete tests positive, gets two year ban
Merritt's lawyer Howard Jacobs gave a statement that the positive tests were caused by Merritt's 'use of an over-the-counter male enhancement product'. 'LaShawn Merritt has accepted a provisional suspension as a result of the positive drug tests.'

LaSHAWN  MERRITT, Olympic and world 400m champion failed to pass three drugs tests between October 2009 and January 2010. He is not putting the blame on cough medicine or inhalers, the American said that he had failed three out-of-competition tests because of a male development product.

Merritt’s lawyer Howard Jacobs gave a statement that the positive tests were caused by Merritt's "use of an over-the-counter male enhancement product". "LaShawn Merritt has accepted a provisional suspension as a result of the positive drug tests."

This caused him a two year long ban and the American admitted that he had made a "foolish, immature and egotistical mistake”. Merritt said that he did not know that the product is containing banned steroid Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA).

"I hope my sponsors, family, friends and the sport itself will forgive me. Any penalty I may receive for my action will not overshadow the embarrassment and humiliation I feel.'' Merit said in a statement. Also he said that he did not read the salt on the product which it was having.

Merritt won over the Jeremy Wariner who was favorite to win the Olympic 400m title in Beijing two years ago, now will face a lot of problem for 2 years and it will also affect his career. Hope the champion survive in all this conspiracy.
