ICC Cricket World Cup 2015
Latest ICC rankings: Indian captain MS Dhoni jumps to No. 8 position
Fans of Indian cricket team's captain MS Dhoni are quite happy these days, reason? Not only India's great performance in the ICC World Cup but also his success in gaining in the latest ICC batting rankings. He is now on number 8.

The reason behind this escalation is his performance in the last two World Cup matches. This good news would surely boost Team India's morale further.

Dhoni has recently scored crucial 45 runs against the West Indian Team and 85 against Zimbabwe and in both innings paved way for India's victory in the match. His contributions have made Team India win 10 World Cup matches which beat the 9 consecutive World Cup win record of Clive Lloyd. Now Team India stands second only to Ricky Ponting's 21 straight wins for Australia in the World Cup.

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan should also be happy by the rankings as he has ranked seventh ahead of Dhoni. Indian star Virat Kohli who secured 4th place is the highest-ranked Indian in the batting chart. Indian Cricket star of the latest match against Zimbabwe, Suresh Raina has also jumped three spots to be placed 17th.

The tally is led by South African captain AB de Villiers and Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara and Hashim Amla secured second and third places.

Unfortunately there are no bowlers in the top-10 as Mohammed Shami is ranked 11th. Indian spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are placed 16th and 18th respectively. Medium-pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar got 17th position. Ravindra Jadeja who is yet to show a magical performance yet has got 7th position in the all-rounders list which led by Sri Lanka's Tillakaratne Dilshan.

It is pertinent to add that the rankings will keep changing throughout the World Cup which gives an opportunity to every player to improve his position. It is hoped that all Indian players would improve their rankings while playing against Bangladesh on Thursday.
