Lawyer seeks bail as Talwar asthmatic patient

With the police having taken Rajesh Talwar into judicial custody, wife Dr Nupur Talwar came forward to defend her husband claiming him to be innocent. Talwar's lawyer said that there was no proof or evidence against his client, linking him to murder.

Aarushi Murder Case :

ABHIJEET CHATTERJEE, Rajesh Talwar’s lawyer, said that there was neither any proof nor evidence against his client, linking him to the murders charged against him. The lawyer further told the reporters that no case under section 302 (Murder) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) could be made against the dentist Rajesh Talwar, accused of killing his daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj. Chatterjee filed a bail application in a local court on May 24, claiming that Rajesh Talwar was totally innocent and he even suffered from asthma, so it was not right to keep him in custody as he was bound to suffer in the jail.

The application of Rajesh Talwar, who was remanded to judicial custody on Friday for 14 days, is expected to come up for the hearing on May 26. Rajesh Talwar being a serious asthmatic patient, the application made was quoted by the lawyer.

When asked about who could be behind the murder, the lawyer smartly said that it was the job of the prosecution and Talwar was innocent. It’s only because of media pressure that Talwar has been arrested.

Earlier, the wife of Rajesh Talwar and mother of Aarushi, Nupur Talwar, came out in defence of her husband claiming that he was totally innocent and she would not sit quiet but fight for his battle for justice. She also denied about any illicit relations between her husband and Anita Durrani, a dental surgeon,which the police said was one of the reasons for the twin-murder of Aarushi and Hemraj.

Anita Durrani, who was also under the scanner of Noida police for an extra marital affair with Rajesh Talwar that led to the murder of his daughter and domestic help, rejected the allegations and said that those were baseless and wrong.
