Leena Manimekalai, a celebrated film maker's blog has led to the controversy.Her poems on females is stated to be obsene.

WANDERER, Loner, Art buff are the keywords that describe Leena Manimekalai in her blog, but the same blog got her in the controversy. Though a graduate from an engineering college, Leena's inclination for filmsmade her a widely talked film maker. Her films are a source of social awareness.

Films like Mathamma, Altar, Waves after Waves, Parai are some her critically acclaimed films. She is currently writing dialogue for her husband's produced serial Madhura. But this time that same pen got her trouble.

Leena Manimekalai' s blog features some poems that portray women in an unacceptable manner. Hindu Makkal Katchi has filed a case against Leena's Blog 'Ulagin Azhagiya Muthul Penn'. Hindu Makkal Katchi also known as Hindu Peoples Party had earlier opposed Mallika Sherawat for wearing minimal clothes in public and Khushboo's views on pre-martial sex. And this time they have Leena Manimekalai on their radar.

Winner of many National and International awards, Leena, on other hand is all set to direct a dream project 'Sengadal', a story based on the lives Sri Lankan refugees.
