The author, Sue Cowley, who himself has been a teacher, promises that the suggestions in the book not only provide the benefits to students but also make the work of teachers interesting and exciting. The most important topics in the book are ‘The Creative Teacher’; ‘The Creative School’; and ‘The Creative Lessons.’The book also talks about the creative teaching spaces, resources for creativity and display of creative products of students. Throughout the book, the author narrates his own creative experiences and thought processes to validate the thesis that children’s creativity can be fostered through the given subjects-based curriculum too.
The author further adds that a teacher can develop the creativity of a child by harnessing the talent the child already has. According to the author, creativity consists of imagination, originality, newness, values and purposefulness and these can be developed through the existing curricula.The book has been published by Continuum, London, and it is being distributed by Viva Books, New Delhi.
