LG Ally preview released: Specs, Features, price, pics
LG Ally is a slider smartphone, with a slide out QWERTY keyboard featuring raised keys. Its 800x400 pixel display features on a 3.2 inch touchscreen. Its microSD slot can raise the available memory from 4GB to 16GB.

 LG RELEASED a sneak peak of its new android based smartphone known as LG Ally on Tuesday. The smatrphone, which is being launched on May 20, with a contract from Verizon Wireless. The sneak peak, not only issued new pictures of the smartphone, but also enumarated its features and specifications.

On the Specifications count, LG Ally is a slider smartphone, with a slide out QWERTY keyboard featuring raised keys. Its 800x400 pixel display features on a 3.2 inch touchscreen. Its microSD slot can raise the available memory from 4GB to 16GB. Running on Google Android 2.1 update one, the LG Ally is also wi-fi enabled and posesses a 3.2 MP camera with a panoramic photo options and default resolution of 2048x1536 pixels.

Though the truth remains to be tested, the LG Ally promises a 500 hours of standby battery time. Its dimensions were released as 4.56 inches x 2.22 inches x 0.62 inches. There is also touch vibration for tactile feedback.

The LG Ally features several preloaded apps like Gmail, Maps and the like, apart from widgers like Socialite, which provide an aggregate of all updates from one's Twitter, Facebook and other networks. As many as five icons can be lined at the bottom of the homescreen, which easy customisable into five options too.

The Android 2.1 update one smartphone also carries a 3D app loader, Bluetooth 2.1 support, LG enhanced user interface and the like. With the 3.2 megapixel camera, one can not only get myraid photo options with the LG Ally, but also many amazing video capture ones. Videos can be made on the phone with varied resolutions like the 640x480 pixel default one or 320x240 and 176x144 custom options. There is 4x zoom and videos can be made sans sound.

The LG Ally is priced at $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and two year contract. Verizon Wireless users can sign for an Ally at $29.99 per month data plan too. The company anticipates this smartphone to be a seller and is taking pre-orders from Thursday, May 13.

Photos of the LG Ally smartphone showed the slider device in action, with raised QWERTY keyboard keys, with a silver homescreen display and a 20 icon grid menu. Pics and images of the device are available on not only the LG page advertising Ally but also on various websites.
