THE UPPER HOUSE of the Parliament was adjourned twice on Monday (November 23), as opposition BJP demanded the tabling of Liberhan Commission report that investigated the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992. The House was adjourned till 2 pm, second time after opposition refused to listen to the assurances of the Home Minister P Chidambaram.
BJP members demanded that the Liberhan Report, which has been leaked in certain sections of media be tabled at once in the Parliament. Chidambaram had earlier told the Parliament that only one official had access to the Liberhan report and he was writing the action taken report by the government. BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said that this report as being published in the media was simply a politically motivated document that was meant to indict the party.
