THE COUNTRY'S largest investor and largest insurance company owned by the state, LIC has planned a new scheme for its customers, whereby the principle person is liable to get the hospital charges for his/her entire family. Known as the non-linked insurance plan, Jeeven Arogya would not only pay for the spouse, minor children and parents but also pay for parents-in-law of the principle insured. Jeevan Arogya also ensures the addition of members and the removal if there are any changes in the family of the principle.

The Jeevan Arogya insurance launch was announced today, which aims at helping people who spend a lot on hospitals. The main attraction of the scheme is the fact that the whole family would get the benefits of the insurance. To add to the attraction is also the clause that irrespective of any other reimbursement from the principle’s company or any other insurance company, he/she is still liable to get the insurance money from LIC.The age limit for the insurance scheme for the Principle agent is 18 years for youth and 65 years for adults. For parents, it is 75 years of age and for children the lowest limit to get insured is 91 days and the highest 17 years.
A person admitted to hospital for non-surgical purposes for more than 24 hours is liable for cash benefits. Policies can be availed for daily cash benefits of 1,000/- 2,000/- 3,000/- and 4,000/- and the surgical benefits are 100 times more than the cash benefits. There is a listing of 57 surgeries and a person having a surgery from the list is entitled to avail for a 50 per cent cash advance. Thus, these are some of the major benefits of the Jeevan Arogya.
