While helping the backward castes, government should not suppress the other castes by setting aside all jobs for the backward castes. The government should keep in mind the welfare of not only the backward castes but also others

Are people belonging to other communities rich? Government is keeping in mind what obtained long ago – when the other castes were rich. I agree that the backward castes suffered at the hands of the other castes. But because of that today’s other castes should not be made to suffer. This is injustice to the other castes. People belonging to the backward castes say other communities are rich and are prosperous taking into consideration what obtained many years ago. They believe that the other castes have been rich forever and their economic conditions will not change. But then are the people belonging to the other castes forever rich?


Not all fruits from a given tree taste alike. Similarly, every person belonging to the OC is not rich. If the ancestors of the people belonging to the backward castes suffered a lot, it does not mean that the present generation of people belonging to other castes should suffer. Every one belonging to the backward castes is forgetting that all human beings are alike and suffer the same way that their ancestors suffered long ago. Government should conduct a survey to ascertain how well off the people are and draw up plans on basis of the statistics revealed by the survey to help the downtrodden people. According to me there are only two castes – the rich and the poor. All benefits like reservations and scholarships should be extended to the poor irrespective of the caste they belong to. We should create awareness about social justice. People are forgetting that the basic principle of ‘live and let live’. Government should also take into consideration who is rich and who is poor. Government should take care of all. At least some measures or plans should be initiated to help the OC.

Owing to the measures launched by the government for the benefit of the backward castes, people belonging to OCs are suffering and they try to convert to backward castes for reaping the benefits available to the backward castes. I am not saying they are purposely crossing over to the other caste because of their plight and problems but are obliged to do so. This is purely my opinion and I am not blaming the government in any respect. Nor am I blaming any religion or any community. If I have hurt anybody in the process, I would like to apologise unconditionally. Thank you all for giving me an opportunity to express my views.
