A LIFE of the Indian hawkers makes me think. Well they are not beggars who spread out their hands to beg but they are people toiling hard each day to make both ends meet. It might not be enough and it’s really difficult to lead a decent life but hardly any one of us ever thinks how their life goes on.
Why not build a public utility fund to help hawkers as they are trying to stand on their own feet. The administration could take part and help raise funds and build a kitty and allot space to the hawkers so that they can increase the wares they sell and generate more income than they are doing.
We should treat them like our brothers and sisters. They are earning money the hard way so it’s time we felt for these brave persons who battle it out in their daily life and like street children, sex workers these are the persons who need our care and support. Work is being done on it but more needs to be done.
