Lindsay Lohan was in county jail in Lynwood for violating probation on a 2007 conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol, since July 20. She was released from the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California, around 1:35 a.m. on Monday.
Lohan has been ordered by the court to spend three months in rehab. The 24-year-old actress Lindsay Lohan served a reduced sentence for good behavior and due to the sheriff's long-standing policy of releasing nonviolent offenders early because of severe overcrowding.
Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy Benjamin Grubb said Lohan was released from the Lynwood Correctional Facility at 1.35 a.m. Sheriff has the power to release prisoners early because of jail overcrowding.
Los Angeles Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said that Lindsay Lohan has been sent directly to her next destination, which is a treatment center and she will now be under the supervision of the L.A. County probation department.
Steve Whitmore also said Lindsay leave the jail with two huge bags full of mail and books. She was moved by the amount of mail and books sent to her by her fans.
According to the report, Lindsay Lohan, the 24-year-old actress will check into the Moringside Treatment Center in Malibu, a rehab facility that specializes in treating addicts dependent on meth, however, sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore declined to disclose the name the treatment facility.
