'Lion' passes away; keeps dynasty politics alive
Like his contemporaries, Bal Thackeray also adopted unholy Indian tradition of dynasty politics by leaving his political legacy for his son Udhav Thackeray rather than the more deserving nephew Raj Thackeray.

IN THE death of Bal Thackeray, the country has lost the only political lion in the country who commanded respect amongst people equally from all walks of life including opponents of his ideology.

It is indeed a big and irreparable loss for patriotic citizens of this great nation. Political allies from Maharashtra in Union Government, mainly NCP, should persuade the government for giving respect and regard to the departed leader as per his stature. Coins and postal-stamps should be issued in his memory at the earliest possible.

Bala Saheb Thackeray never allowed differences of ideology to hurt personal friendship, including even in Pakistan. This is why his popularity and charisma crossed even boundaries of the nation including in Pakistan when prominent Pakistanis including cricketer Javed Miandad prayed for his speedy recovery.

He was the only brave leader who never cared for vote-bank, and behaved similarly in public and private. He was perhaps the only leader who could share beer with his foes and friends alike in a fully friendly manner.

True homage to the family-head can be from Raj Thackeray and Udhav Thackeray by their being united to provide leadership following footsteps of the departed family-head.

Undoubtedly fanfare of Shiv Sena supremo established a world-record by having a record 2-million people attending his funeral-procession, further establishing him to be 'uncrowned king of the financial capital' of India, which could not move without his direction despite any party/ alliance being in power.

But like his contemporaries, he also adopted unholy Indian tradition of dynasty politics where he left his political legacy for his son Udhav Thackeray rather than the more deserving nephew Raj Thackeray. Differing political paths of two cousins were obviously seen during funeral procession of the political lion. However politically it was correct for Raj Thackeray not to go to Shiv Sena Bhawan with funeral procession to avoid any confusion amongst his own cadres.

It is evident that Raj Thackeray could only maintain supremacy of Shiv Sena as an organization and a political party in much better way like his uncle could do, rather than Udhav Thackeray.

It is despicable and reprehensible on many accounts. Indian Constitution secures the right to free speech and so does any democratic constitution. Bal Thackeray was a human, not a religion and his death is no more special than any other human life. All human life is sacred and all deaths are sad but to arrest someone for freedom of speech is atrocity. The people who attacked the victim's uncle's house are ignorant lunatics who are blinded by fanaticism instead of pragmatic approach towards like and understanding that difference of opinions and views is human right and reality. There are 100s of Facebook pages about and against world's biggest leaders across the world, no one gets arrested unless they make a death threat or clearly false accusation. Expressing dislike for someone or that they are not important to someone is not crime, it is freedom of speech. Where is Media sleeping? Also blinded by fanaticism and too scared to support freedom of speech and constitutional, fundamental human rights? No wonder once an Indian goes overseas they don't want to do much with India, why would you want to love a nation that believes in stealing your human rights? Some of Indian politicians are no better than radical hate groups of Taliban! Shame on those who claim to be Indian but are a sheer embarrassment to the face of Indian values and constitution. I am ASHAMED to be a part of such an ignorant population and society. Arresting a women who has genuine concern about Goonda Raj of Bal Thackrey , and shutting Bombay, I request world and United Nation society of civilized country to investigate India
