Lisa Ray diagnosed with incurable cancer Myeloma

Lisa Ray, the 37-year-old actress broke the news that she is suffering from an incurable and rare form of cancer called Multiple Myeloma, in a post of her blog site on September 7. Myeloma is incurable but Lisa believes she can beat it.

ACTRESS LISA RAY, has revealed through her blog that she is suffering from an incurable and rare form of cancer. The stunning actress played the role of a beautiful yet tragic widow Kalyani in the movie, 'Water' by Deepa Mehta. The movie was nominated for the Oscars.

Lisa Ray, the 37-year-old actress first broke the news in a post of her blog site on September 7. She had started blogging to give people an insight into her struggle with the deadly disease. She had been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on June 23. She started her first cycle of treatment on July 2.

The model turned actress first grabbed eyeballs when she instantly shot to fame with her racy Bombay Dyeing advertisement which showed her in a black swimsuit.

Lisa, born to a Bengali father and a Polish mother in Canada, wants to continue working and fight the disease. She said that Myeloma is incurable but she very much believes that it can be cured and she will beat it. Throwing light to Myeloma, she said that it was a relatively rare cancer of the bone marrow and affects abot 6000 Canadians and every year around 2100 more cases are diagnosed. Last but not the least, she said that she was a junior member in a lot many ways as the cancer has been diagnosed at 37, while the average age is 65.
