ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD IHA Sharma, a Mumbai girl studying in sixth standard in Janki Devi Public School has paved a way for humanity. Iha was deeply moved by television pictures of the misery and plight of the flood-affected people of Bihar. She was especially touched by the pain and suffering of children under the circumstances. She wanted to do something for them. Her father had asked her to make the fixed deposit of the money she had saved in her piggy bank for the last five years. She expected it to be around five –six thousand.
An idea struck her -- instead of making a safe deposit she decided to donate the entire amount in her piggy bank for the flood-victims. Her parents though happy with her decision asked her to give it due thought as once she makes the move she will have to abide by it. Ilha confirmed her decision. To her surprise her piggy bank contained Rs 21,000. Ila has decided to donate the entire amount to News 24.
We are proud to have our new generation who knows the true meaning of humanity.
