Liverpool Vs Everton derby tonight
Liverpool's chances of playing football in Europe seem to have blown away, due to their recent performances. Even a victory tonight against Everton will only help them getting closer to Newcastle..

LIVERPOOL HAS ruined their chances of securing 4th place in the EPL( Champions League Qualifying Spot) with two back to back losses - one against Arsenal and the other one against Sunderland have only disappointed Liverpool fans. The latter one was very disappointing, as Liverpool were expected to defeat Sunderland at least. Unfortunately, they were outplayed.

Liverpool is scheduled to face another tight match tonight at Anfield with Everton. It is one of the most eagerly contested derby matches of the season.  Liverpool is presently on 7th place with 39 points and Everton are placed 9th on the EPL table. A victory for Everton would mean moving ahead of Liverpool, which the reds would like to avoid at any cost.

On the other hand, a victory for Liverpool would also not mean much, as far as the fourth spot race is concerned, as, they would still be trailing by 10 points. The race for the fourth spot is going to be fought between Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle United. It seems to be another disappointing year for Liverpool in the EPL.

Liverpool, when they take on Everton would come out all guns blazing. Players such as Gerrard, Suarez has been playing well, but scoring goals has been a huge problem. Everton too has not been able to score goals, as they have only scored 28 goals, compared to Liverpool’s 30. It is an embarrassing stat for both the teams as Bolton, which lie on 17th place has scored 31 goals, as per espnstar.com. It would not be a big surprise, if the match is a low scoring one. But, no one can count out derbies, which brings out the best out of players.

Liverpool is eager for the derby. Their manager, K. Dalglish hopes that this Merseyside derby is needed to shake the present Liverpool team from their current run, reports espnstar.com. If they are shaken too, it seems to be too little and too late, with not many matches left for the club to play. Carling Cup may be their only reason to smile this year.
