Lok Sabha passes Telangana Bill; people failed to witness the historic moment as live broadcast of the LSTV was stopped
The long struggle of Telangana people has finally came to an end, with Lok Sabha passing the Telangana Bill via voice vote. The bill was passed amidst protest, as many as 40 MPs protested in the well of the house against the decision.
Moreover, the Lok Sabha speaker had
also ordered to curtail the live telecast of the proceedings by the
Lok Sabha during the time the Bill was discussed. The live telecast
of the Lok Sabha was stopped for the first time, while the house took
up Telangana bill for discussion.
The bill was presented by the Home
Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde
, and was adjourned twice, because of
disturbances like few members opposing the bifurcation of the state,
came near the podium. Some members also held placards against the
bifurcation of the state.
YSR Congress Chief Jaganmohan Reddy
while talking to media called it a black day in the history of Indian
democracy, and has declared bandh in the state.

telecast was cut off. Doors were closed, people who were to represent
the interests of Seemandhra were suspended. The issue was taken up
against the will of the assembly, against the will of the people of
Andhra Pradesh. Today we have seen that the bill was passed

Telangana region. People are seen dancing, singing in joy.
