Lok Sabha polls 2014: Sixth phase of voting underway; fates of over 2000 candidates to be sealed today
Polling for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections are underway today. Fates of 117 Lok Sabha constituencies and 2076 candidates, spread across 11 states and one Union territory will be locked in the EVMs today.

Some of the Union ministers who are in the poll fray today are Salman Khurshid, Milind Murli Deora, Namo Narayan Meena, Jitendra Singh and Tariq Anwar, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Other prominent personalities whose fate will be decided today are actor-turned politician Hema Malini (BJP), former Indian cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin, President Pranab Mukherjee's son Abhijit Mukherjee, Lalu Prasad Yadav, UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav.

The states where voting will take place are Tamil Nadu (39 constituencies), Maharashtra (19 constituencies), Uttar Pradesh (12 constituencies), Madhya Pradesh (10 constituencies), Bihar (7 constituencies), Chhattisgarh (7 constituencies), Assam (6 constituencies), Rajasthan (5 constituencies), Jharkhand (4 constituencies), Jammu and Kashmir (1 constituency) and Puducherry(lone seat).

The electoral authorities in all the states have made every arrangement for a trouble free voting. As Mumbai is also going for polls today, Bollywood celebs like Vidya Balan, Sonam Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Shilpa Shetty, John Abraham, Neha Dhupia, Farhan Akhtar, Amrita Arora, Kunal Kohli, Tisca Chopra exercised their voting rights early in the morning.
