AK said Modi and BJP were making unnecessary scenes only because a rally was denied to them. My counter response is did he forget what scene he had made when he was denied permission to meet Modi during his infamous Gujarat trip? Was it required?
He questioned BJP?s reactions on "Ganga Arti issue". He said Gangaji Ki aarti pe rajnity nahin honi chayiye and Modiji wanted to do politics with that. Well, I accept that there should be no politics on this auspicious event but see who is saying? Isn't he doing the same there as well?
His inquiry on BJP?s dharna: BJP ke netaon ke iss Dharne ke pichhe kya rajnity hai?? (What?s the politics behind this protest of BJP's top brass?)
Wow! This is my favorite. So Mr. Kejriwal you accept that there is politics behind all your dharnas (protests) so far. Well in that case being a dharna queen, you better know the answer and I honestly ask you to share with us what is the politics in general behind such dharnas?
More surprisingly he termed these acts as 'Drama and Nautankis' to score political brownie points. Well being a clever script master, who would know the reality better???
In fact I would like to ask Mr. Kejriwal during his two days Gujarat trip he had asked at least 20 plus questions and made more than enough nautanki's against NaMo. But, during his one month stay in UP, why did he not ask a single question to Mr. Akhilesh Yadav? Is it because of the the scarcity of electricity in UP that prevented him to use loud speakers or any other ugly political gain?
I have never been a fan of Kejriwal?s strategy of "Targeting Modi" for his Lok Sabha aspirations. In Varanasi context, I must admit that it was apparently a smart move on part of Kejriwal to contest against Modi here. The reason being even a defeat in a high profile battle gives accolades, which is much higher and better than a victory in any small fight. But Alas! Had Kejriwal managed his conduct along with contesting against Modi, the story would have been much better.
In this way (targeting only Modi) he was similar to all other political opponents of Modi but also diminished his own stature and ruined the expectation of people like me as well.
I feel all these days he just reduced himself to a Mushroom who dared an Oak Tree (Modi). My analogy can better be understood if one goes through a small Poem "The Mushroom and The Oak" in a fourth standard English Textbook by G.K.Chesterton.
In this poem the poet has expressed how a Mushroom dared to ask an Oak for it?s being big, strong and patient and laughed at its(Oak's) painstaking care to make its roots going dip into the earth and branches going high onto the sky to face all adversities of the various seasons.
Presently in Varanasi, the fight is actually for the second spot as Modi is a sure shot winner from the city in the face of a multi polar contest. In fact right from the beginning in this high profile seat for all NaMo?s opponent, it was primarily "who will give tough competition to Modi?" And, no doubt Kejriwal tried hard for it. But, in reality, he is actually going to lose his deposits. For better expression, I share the last lines of the above mentioned poem
The mushroom laughed at such painstaking care:
Then there strolled a little maid
Beneath the great Oak's shade,
And somehow - soon - the mushroom wasn't there!!!
To which there was a question for the students "What do you think might have happened to Mushroom as the girl came to rest under the Oak tree?was it trampled upon or picked up?"
Well, whatever is the case (trampled upon or picked up) my point is The Mushroom wasn't there - which is actually the reality!
