The ‘slap’ by Harvinder Singh was long overdue from the public and its echoes down the corridors of power and common mans by lanes have burned, spurned many but have made innumerable hearts proud too. Sadly, many others who justly deserve such a treatment have escaped Scott free.
How ‘undemocratic and unlawful’ it may seem but the ‘slap’ has its origins from the very depths of the public’s pent up emotions and frustrations at an immovable and a heartless governance system in India. The most surprising aspect of this vent of public’s ire is that it’s a prelude for something big to come.
The slap is nothing less than a spark, which will set a fire in the forest of our democratic setup, burning it away to, cinders forever. I hope our politicians take heed and wakeup to bring a strong Lokpal Bill. The media has also shown him being assaulted too in return by a third party along with NCP supporters adopting violence in many parts of Maharashtra and hence they too should be meted out the same penalty as what Harvinder Singh would be.
It is ironic that agriculture ministry, over the years, has let spoil and rot millions of tons of our country's precious food grains, which sadly is equivalent to the total requirement in wiping out the worlds hunger in totality and India’s forever. The Supreme Court has many times scolded the government for this but alas it took poor Harvinder Singh to deliver justice in such an unlawful manner. I hope we do not see an era of births of such Robin Hood’s in the near future.
Who will bell the cat? If I dream that recently somebody visited an undisclosed destination on pretext of medical treatment was to take and settle kickbacks for bringing in FDI in retail, US Arms purchases, and obsolete nuclear power equipment into India by joining a NATO like body against China in the long run. The person’s successful visit with reference to all above along with settlement of black money stashed abroad can be taken as an example of the state of affairs of corruption in India today.
Tell me who and which watchdog out of the above list will believe, take heed and or have the guts to investigate – I consider nobody, rather they will go whimpering for a pat to the person and help in removing evidence by faking hospital records and hiding travelling details to third party countries from that country of visit. There might be a distinct possibility that they only have organized the entire itinerary of the said person in collusion with a foreign secret service.
It is these frustrating events and happenings as mentioned below along with the indulgence in day to day corruption activities by our politicians and Group A, B & C government employees that have made the lives of the common man miserable. This has created a longing for Lokpal Bill to end this rabid gluttony of greed and mayhem by the high profile thus bringing an end to corruption in India.
Why government has not taken out a whitepaper on the results of these below mentioned scams and scandals let alone transparently highlight their respective proceedings and results in the websites of the investigative agencies is also a question which needs to be answered.

The Lok Pal Bill also to be totally effective needs a honest party to choose from among the presently available as in my opinion all existent ones are tainted.
I hope a strong Lok Pal Bill will bring an end to such a corrupt scenario.
