London apartment fire: Death toll likely to go beyond hundred, British Queen Elizabeth II and Prime Minister Theresa May visit site
The reported death toll in massive fire that gutted the 24-storey apartment in west London has risen to 30 which likely to go beyond 100 as the firemen continue the rescue operation with caution fearing the collapse of the building.

It is suspected that more bodies remain in the gutted building and there will be no more survivors. It is said that upper storeys are still inaccessible since fire is still simmering there though no flames are seen. It being said that building is not yet safe for rescue work and emergency services in most floors of the apartment.

Authorities fear that all the victims of the horrific fire may never be identified since bodies are charred beyond recognition. Meanwhile, a criminal investigation into the cause of the fire has begun.

Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by grandson Prince William, visited the site and met with the fire-fighters, volunteers, community members and kin of the victims and those missing.

British Prime Minister Theresa May has also visited the site. She has ordered a full public inquiry into the tragic incident, reports media.
