London Olympic Games village is ready to host athletes
The 2012 London Olympic Games village has been unveiled. Athletes would be pouring in from Monday. It is going to be their home for next two weeks or so.

THE WAIT for the London Olympics is almost over. It is just a fortnight away, as it is scheduled to start from 27th July to 12 August. The place, where athletes from around 200 countries would reside, the Olympics Village is also ready. Come Monday, athletes would start pouring in. It is at this place, where athletes from several corners of the globe would mingle with one another and also get to know one another and make great friends too.

The village has been built on huge land, which is said to be around 36 hectares. There is a lot of green space around the village making it environment friendly. There are five huge Olympic rings too in the village in its traditional green, red, yellow, black and red colour. This village will be considered as the athlete's home till the Games are over.

The cost of the village is expected to be around GBP 1billion. Team officials of some countries have already seen the village and have checked in too. Boris Johnson, Mayor of London in this AFP video says, “We have done everything in power to welcome greatest athletes in the world, make them feel at home, here in London.” Various kinds of facilities would also be available to the athletes such as hair care, nails would be done and other forms of entertainment such as pool table has also been arranged to relax the players.

A great deal of attention is always given to the dining hall, as it is very important for the athletes to get their required diet 24/7 of the best quality. The seating arrangements are spacious, and have got a very colourful look to it as well. Various kinds of cuisines would be available starting from English diet, Caribbean, African etc. It also includes McDonald's. Nigel Garfitt, Director, Villages and Games services in the AFP video says, “It (Dining hall) is pretty huge. So we can seat 5000 people at one time. We will serve something in excess of 1.2 million meals over the course of the Games.”

So with this village being unveiled, basically everything is ready for the games, the organisers are just waiting for the Games to start and bring laurels to the nation for being one of the best Olympic hosts. For that we have to wait and watch, if they will be successful or not.
