London Paris New York - 'Can watch' movie
'London Paris New York' is a movie written and directed by Anu Menon and casts Ali Zafar, who made his debut in Bollywood with Tere Bin Laden. Though the movie takes you on a tour of cities like..

IT WAS 3 o’clock in the afternoon while on phone with my friend Raj, we started discussing about the movies. “Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya” and “London Paris New York” are the two movies that were released during past two weeks and to our surprise hardly these movies were running in any theatres.

We looked for Mayajaal theatre on the ECR and found one show available at 4.35 PM. We drove in speed, reached 5 minutes ahead and got two tickets in the 5th row from back for the movie LPNY. Thank God! This time we reached ahead.

There the movie started, with Ali Zafar in an interview of the super hit movie, which he directed. In the middle of the interview he gets a message, “Bus ek raat hae tere paas”, and from there the movie goes into a flashback.

Aaditi Rao (Lalitha) is a cute, Tamil girl who is energetic with a mission to bring about a change in politics. She is on her way to the U.S (to study politics) in the connecting flight from London where she misses her connecting flight and gets stuck in London. On London airport she meets a handsome, fair and fun loving guy, Nikhil (Ali Zafar). Lalitha preferred cash than the room, which the flight management provided, but unfortunately her friend in whose home she decided to stay is out of station with her husband. That’s where Nikhil and Lalitha decided to tour London until next day when she has her flight for New York. The one-day journey brings them closer to one another and before leaving, Nikhil promises to pay a visit to New York to see her within 6 months.

Time moves on, Lalitha moves to Paris for an internship program and Nikhil on the other side tries to trace her out in Paris with the help of his contacts. He was finally successful but shocked to see her in a totally new avatar where she drinks and got adapted to the new hi-fi lifestyle.

There again they decided a day’s tour of Paris and as the day nears its end, they share some intimate moments. As the sun rises, Nikhil expresses his love for Lalitha who laughs and expresses her wish to watch the movie directed by him. As the movie starts, she recognizes the lead role as the person she had seen with Nikhil in an uncompromising state few months back.

Lalitha explains Nikhil, that when he couldn’t make up his promise to land up New York, she herself decides to pay a surprising visit to his home. But to her horror, she sees him sharing intimacy with another lady.  She broke down into tears and decides to take revenge.

Now, Nikhi realizes that everything was just unreal. Though Nikhil couldn’t make up his trip to New York but he did try to contact her via letters. An angry Lalitha doesn’t care to respond.

Here movie comes back to beginning of the story where Nikhil was busy in an interview. Whether Nikhil sticks to his love or his heart keeps searching for the new faces? What happens to Lalitha? Will Nikhil again try to figure her out and hold her tight? Will she ever realize the feelings of Nikhil? The answers to these queries bring us to the end of this romantic comedy movie.

As a whole the movie is missing a lot more of chemistry and dialogues to hold the audience. Ali Zafar looks stunning but does most of the talking in the movie, which takes his character little out of focus. It’s not a “MUST WATCH” movie but a kind of time pass with 2 stars for acting, directing, songs and script.

“Vo dekhnay mein” song is nice.

Watch this movie for Ali Zafar and Aditi.

Acting, no script

At time you will feel that the movie is being dragged to make it run for 3 hours.

No other character other than the lead roles.
