NANO, THE long awaited one lakh rupees car from Tata Motors, would be on the streets from the next month. The company said that they would be launching it on March 23, 2009.
From the first week of April, dealerships will start displaying it in their showrooms. In an official statement, TATA Motors also said that they are planning to start the booking from the second week of April. Conceived from the group chairman of Ratan Tata, Nano had to overcome a lot of hardships like increased cost of raw materials, relocating production, global recession etc before it reaches to the customers. The car was unveiled on January 10, 2008 by Ratan Tata in New Delhi.
The idea of launching a car of such low price would benefit the company only if there are multi fold sales volumes than the current best selling car. Hence, a widest possible network of dealers for booking Nano is essential and the company is making arrangements for the same. TATA will announce the process of booking and other details on March 23, 2009.
