Lorena Ochao says goodbye to golf
The latest news is that Mexican world number one Lorena Ochoa has announced her retirement from golf. Lorena 28, had won two majors, had been dominating golf since the last 3 years since clinching the top spot from Annika Sorenstam
 
The latest news is that Mexican world number one Lorena Ochoa has announced her retirement from golf. Lorena 28, had won two majors, had been dominating golf since the last 3 years since clinching the top spot from Annika Sorenstam.
Lorena will hold a press conference on Friday to explain her decision. It is believed that she is planning to start a family.
 
It said, "The reasons and more details on the matter will be given by Lorena personally in a press conference on Friday in Mexico City. Lorena will share this news of a new stage in her life with her sponsors, family members and friends."
 
Ochao got married to Andres Conesa, father of three and the chief executive of Mexican Airline Aeromexico in her home city of Guagalajara in December 2009.
Lorena won two majors - the Women's British Open in 2007 and Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2008. She has recorded 27 victories in eight seasons on the LPGA Tour.
 
Last season, Lorena beat South korea's Jiayi Shin to claim her 4th consecutuve LPGA Player of the year award. In 2010 she won three tournaments, in 2008 she won seven, 2007 was the year when she won eight and won six in 2006.
