Independence Day is dotted with events in and around Gurgaon. People are celebrating it in their own way. Schools, colleges, offices and malls are decked up for the special occasion. Lorraine Music Academy with their ongoing 'Come India Sing Jana Gana Mana' is gearing up in preparation of the day when India got Independence from the British Raj.
They have a number of events lined up in the cultural centre of Gurgaon- Epicentre and the program would start at around 11 am. Professional musicians and students of Lorraine Music Academy and schools across the National Capital Region will express their celebration through song, instrumental music, and dance performances.
There will be solo singing & group / choir singing of patriotic songs from across India. Some of the songs will include Vande Mataram, Saare Jahan Se Achcha, Hum Honge Kaamyaab, Woh Din Hai Kitna Door, Chaumasyo Laagyo Re, Bharat Mata Teri Kasam, Maa Tujhe Salaam, among many others. There will be dance performances set to patriotic and folk music. The audience will also be treated to poetry recitals and speeches. It will include performances by children and youth - members of our next generation, members of the community, and citizens of India. This concert is in aid of raising awareness, support and resources for the National Patriotic Project "Come India
Sing Jana Gana Mana".
The Musical Celebration will include a brief workshop embedded in the concert to educate and encourage the audience to abide by the Constitution of India and respect its ideals and institutions, the National Flag and the National Anthem. This will include an explanation and training on the proper singing the National Anthem as per the code as laid out in the Constitution ? in the right rhythm, melody and timing. The
event will have the audience singing our National Anthem with pride, passion, and precision. The National Patriotic Project "Come India Sing Jana Gana Mana" is a clarion call to 1.27 Billion Indians to stand together for one cause ? the Unity of India, by singing one song ? our National Anthem, in the correct code as laid out in the Constitution of India.
The event will have distinguished Guests of Honour, including Directors and Principals of Schools, Vice Chancellors of Universities, distinguished members of the community across the National Capital Region and from others States.
The event will also recognise and award schools that have participated in this nation building project and have ensured 100 per cent participation of their students in this noble cause. School Principals, children & the youth of the nation will be encouraged to follow their examples and fulfill their fundamental duties as citizens of India as per Article 51A.
