Losar celebrated at Tsuglagkhang monastery temple in Himachal's Dharamshala
Losar, the Tibetan New Year, Losar was celebrated at Tsuglagkhang main temple in McLeodganj, Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh with prayers and invocation of Palden Lhamo, the official protector deity of Tibet.
This
year, Losar, as the first day of the Tibetan lunar new year (2146), is
called the Year of the Earth Dog.
The gathering recited the invocation of Palden Lhamo, the official
protector deity of Tibet. After the morning prayer service to usher in Losar,
the local Tibetans from Dharamsala and nearby areas offered prayers and seeked
blessings. The also paid obeisance the Dalai Lama. At homes also the
Tibetans made incense and food offering ceremony to purify past regrets and
invite auspiciousness for the New Year.
The Dalai Lama wished 'Losar Tashi Delek' to all and urged the
followers to live up to the its meaning and spirit. Lobsang Sangay, the Speaker
of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile extended his greeting to the Tibetans on the
occasion of Losar.
Governor of HP, Acharya Devvrat greeted the
Tibetans saying, "I wish a happy and joyful new year and hope it will bring
happiness, enthusiasm and joy in everyone's life and we will work together to
have a peaceful world". He also wished long life to The Dalai Lama.
