Love the Prophet Day: Anti-Islam film protests turn violent in Pak
In Pakistan, at least three people were reported killed and a few dozen injured on Friday holiday called 'Love the Prophet Day' declared by Pakistan's government to protest peacefully against the controversial film produced in the US.

UNFORTUNATELY IN most cities of Pakistan, the protests turned into riots with setting of cinema houses, banks and vehicles on fire. The rioters indulged in stone throwing and brick batting with the police. At many places, the highways were blocked by the protesters. In Karachi, reportedly, some armed protesters fired on the police.

Mostly, the anger of the protesters was directed at the U.S. government even though American ads criticized criticised the film for insulting Muslims.

According to media reports, clashes between police and stone-throwing protesters also occurred in Lahore and Islamabad. Police fired tear gas, and fired air shots to them marching toward U.S. missions.

In the Muslim world, the film "Innocence of Muslims" denigrating the Prophet Muhammad has sparked violent protests for the past 10 days resulting in the death of at least 33 people, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya.
