AN OFFICER of the rank of Lieutenant General has been asked to submit his resignation after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced against him. It was alleged that the army officer identified as Lieutenant General A K Nanda had misbehaved with the wife of an official during a visit abroad last month.
Sources said that Lt Gen A K Nanda, who is the Engineer in Chief had been asked to resign by the army chief after a complaint was received that he molested the wife of his technical secretary during a trip to Israel.
Nanda is the senior most officer from the armed forces, who has been asked to resign on charges of sexual misconduct. The complaint was filed before the president of Army Wives Welfare Association, Bharti Singh, who is the wife of present army chief V K Singh. An inquiry was ordered into the issue and it was only after its report came that Nanda was asked to go. Earlier Nanda has served as the Director General of Border Roads Organisation. Meanwhile, Nanda's technical secretary has also been shifted to a new posting and Colonel Sanjeev Dalal has been appointed in his place.

Due Respect please dont show the picture of Lt Gen Nanda with the logo of Border Roads Organisation. We dont want to see our logo with this matter. He has already posted out from the post of the Director General of Border Roads to Engineer-in-Chief.
