Luis Suarez charged by FA for racial abuse against Patrick Evra
Luis Suarez has been charged by the English Football Association for racially abusing Patrice Evra. The player, if found guilty, would be charged with a fine or a ban for some matches, and may be both.
LUIS SUAREZ has had a controversial career till date. He was the player who bit another player while playing a match, during his career at Ajax. He saved a goal during the quarter finals of the World Cup with his hand on the goal line. So it’s no surprise, when the same player has grabbed headlines all over the world, as he has been charged by the English Football Association for racially abusing Patrice Evra, Manchester United’s defender.
The player has been charged by the FA, after Patrice Evra had lodged a complaint about the racist remark, that had been made by the Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez, when Manchester played Liverpool last month, reported guardian.co.uk.
Liverpool has said that the player is going to deny the charge against him, when the personal hearing takes place. Suarez will receive full support of Liverpool, reported espnstar.com. Patrice Evra has claimed that the Uruguayan player insulted him at least 10 times during the match. If it is true then it might be bad news for Liverpool, as he could be charged guilty for it.
Luis Suarez, who is away for his international duty might be in trouble, as the player could be banned for some matches apart from being handed down a fine. Liverpool would first discuss about the issue with the player after he returns to the club. It would be a huge setback, if it is the case, as Liverpool have two big games for the season coming up in the next 2 weeks against Chelsea and Manchester City. Liverpool needs his services, as he is one of the best players that they possess. So, it is sure Liverpool will use all its powers to make sure that the player is not declared guilty.
Racist remarks have always been part of football. Recently, there was some controversy related to some racist remarks that was made by Chelsea’s defender, John Terry to Anton Ferdinand. It is not only the players who are on the receiving end, as Avraham Grant, who was has been involved with the English Premier League, received some anti-Semitic chants from some Chelsea fans.
