The Macworld Expo 2010 began today at the Moscone Center in San Fransisco, with 250 vendors participating. The event which will not have any official Apple presence, is expected to see 30000 visitors.
WITH NO official Apple presence, the Macworld Expo 2010 which on Tuesday, February 9, suprised many, after there had been reports earlier of the expo ending because the software giant had pulled out.
The Macworld Expo 2010 did suffer some due to the lack of Apple presence. There were lesser vendors on the floor, but the show remained full of fervour at the Moscone Center in San Fransisco.
250 vendors are here at the Macworld Expo 2010, showcasing Apple related products from February 9 to February 13. About 30000 Apple fans are expected to attend the expo to catch these products as well as the many speeches, presentations and conferences that will be held at the convention.
Paul Kent, the key organiser of Macworld Expo 2010 said, “The really important thing with Macworld is that it’s popular, and it’s one of the last bastions where just a regular old user can come, go shopping and go to conference sessions. Macworld in the absence of Apple becomes a fan fest.”
This year the highlight of the Macworld Expo is on iPhone apps with a mobile apps showcase hosting 70 iPhone developers. The keynote presentations include those by New York Times technology columnist David Pogue, film director Kevin Smith, former Apple evangelist Guy Kawasaki and Daring Fireball blogger John Gruber.
