Maharashtra to host national seminar on "Recent Trends in Materials Research"
A national seminar on "Recent Trends in Materials Research" is going to held at Yashwantrao Chavan Warana Mahavidyalaya, Warananagar, Maharashtra, on January 31.

Keeping in mind the utmost importance of materials and their crucial role in advancement and dissemination of knowledge for sake of mankind, the seminar will provide a platform for sharing the latest and original research work with the participants.

"Material and material research has tremendous impact on mankind. Material research has simplified the mode of living of human being to an immense extent. Material research has emerged as a significant contributing parameter to advancement of basic sciences such as Physics and Chemistry. Material research has made the line of demarcation between these basic sciences more and more blurred," hold the conference organizers.

Various sub-themes on which papers will be presented and special talks will be held are magnetic materials; electronic materials; ferro electric materials; dielectric materials; ceramic materials; composite materials; computational materials; nano-materials; materials for energy storage and conversion; and any other relevant topics pertaining to Physics and Chemistry of materials.

The latest research interest in being seen in nano-materials which are being described as single unit materials of the size between 1 to 1000 nanometres. According to scientists, nano-materials research is more linked to nanotechnology and micro-fabrication. Materials with structure at the nano-scale often have unique optical, electronic, or mechanical properties which can the base of future technology. The materials have also been found useful in medical science.
