Maharatna NTPC's 2nd Quarter Profit After Tax Grows by 30%
Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking NTPC Limited, India's largest power generating company with an installed capacity of 39174 MW has announced unaudited financial results for the second quarter of financial year 2012-13.

THE UNAUDITED total income for Q2 of financial year 2012-13 is Rs. 17,167.88 crore as against Rs. 16,386.87 crore reported for the corresponding quarter in previous year thus registering an increase of 5% on quarter on quarter basis as per a statement by the NTPC.

The company declared an unaudited Profit after Tax of Rs. 3,142.35 crore for Q2 of financial year 2012-13 as compared to Rs. 2,424.12 crore declared in the corresponding quarter of previous year thus registering an increase of 30% on quarter on quarter basis.

For the first half year, the unaudited total income is the Rs. 34,012.77 crore and the unaudited PAT is Rs. 5,641.02 crore as compared to Rs. 31,554.76 crore and Rs. 4,499.90 crore respectively for the corresponding period last year, thus registering an increase of 8% in the unaudited total income and 25% in the unaudited PAT.

In first half year of financial year 2012-13, NTPC group has declared 2820 MW on commercial operation, which is highest ever by NTPC in a period of six month.

The PSUs in the country are great performers. NTPC in my opinion is the best power PSU. I have never heard that the production is going down in NTPC. great company, great employees.

The Maharatna NTPC is doing great under the able guidance of its CMD Mr. Arup Roy Choudhary. I wish this 30% profit reaches 100 % in coming times.

Few days back i read somewhere that the government is foing for further disinvestment in the NTPC. But why?? I don't understand why the profit making ventures are dis-invested??

I wish all the power companies operated by various states have the same efficiency like NTPC so that there would be no power shortage in the country.

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is one of the best PSU of the country. The profit making government entity is earning laurels every day. I wish the company's profit grows manifold in quarters to come.
