Mahendra Singh Dhoni banned for two ODI matches
The action against Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not justified, as a slow over rate also depends on the entire team's performance and not just one. Dhoni had earlier made a ton on the Nagpur test and should have been given a warning before the notice.
THE INDIAN Cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been banned for the next two ODI matches for a slow over rate in the match in Nagpur which was held on Friday, December 18. It’s a blow for India that such an action has been taken against the Indian cricket captain.
 
The action against Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not justified, as a slow over rate also depends on the entire team's performance and not just one. Dhoni had earlier made a ton on the Nagpur test and should have been given a warning before the notice for the outright ban.
 
Sri Lanka had won Friday's match, won the match by three wickets to level the five match series to one – one now. The game ended about 45 minutes after the scheduled finish time because of frequent discussions between the Indian players during the closing stage of Sri Lanka's chase. The decision to ban Mahendra Singh Dhoni was taken by match Empire Jeff Crowe.
