Make a style statement with handcrafted leather juttis
Handcrafted leather juttis are a good alternate to ballet flats. They have a comfortable cushioned sole in vibrant prints. One of these juttis is named Fizzy Goblet as it infuses colour in our lives through the goblet shaped shoe, creating a fizz due to its creativity and ingenuity.

The woman behind this trendy show line is Laksheeta Govil a graduate from Pearl Academy of Fashion Design, New Delhi, started off with her foray of quirky shoes in her final year of fashion designing. A paintbrush, acrylic paints and a pair of snow white sneakers is what she used to showcase her young and restless attitude. She honed her skill with well-known Indian couture houses Narendra Kumar and Lecoanet Hemant.

Later, working with Puma (an International Sports wear associated with fun and fashion) helped her understand the shoe market and shape her destiny. But thanks to her R&D within the extended family, which gave them the much needed confidence, to launch Fizzy Goblet, contemporary Juttis with matching scarves in April 2013. Her business partner Abhinav Mehra, an MBA student from Mumbai, has represented Fizzy Goblet on the Indian version of U.S. reality show TheApprentice, THE PITCH, and won accolades as a runners up, grabbing eyeballs and media attention.

These Juttis (traditional ethnic Indian footwear) have a history dating back to the advent of Mughals in the Northern Indian subcontinent. It’s a slip-on style generally handmade and embroidered beautifully. Spot the difference between the two genders’ footwear, men are curled at the tip to represent moustaches and the women have them blunt on the tips to resemble a kiss and that’s not all; there is no left or right foot, you’re meant to choose and smartly continue with the same footing.

Fizzy Goblet decided to do things differently with graphic elements and embellishment on unusual materials proving versatility by targeting all ages, almost all occasions and outfits. The yearning to outdo themselves each season helps them regularly come out with season and in-between capsule collections. It’s an excellent blend of Indian traditional with western contemporary; fancy accessories in these times of recession provide easy options of change. The beaus don’t feel left out as a befitting funky yet classic fashion ‘must-have’ for men (juttis & scarves) is also on their anvil, amongst many more things.
