Some make-shift bird hospitals and special bird care services have been activated in Jaipur by NGOs such as Ashray, Help in Suffering, RAKSHA, Saviors, People for Animal, Sarvoday Ahinsha and many more. Most damage is caused by the threads with Chinese manjha or glass coated manjha. Though, there is an official ban on the sail of such threads, but their sale is on, and this has caused quite a few bird deaths in the past.
During last two days, over hundred birds were brought to these make-shift hospitals and treated by specialists. But many will not be able to fly again. Due to insensitivity of people, a few hundred die, uncared or get eaten by dogs, cats and squirrels.
